in a record store near you...
Very soon you'll be seeing this girl on a CD cover. Her name is Kylee and she likes to party with her voice. Is she good? Do bears poop in the woods? [insert yes/affirmative statement in case you've never seen a bear in the woods]
If you really wanted to hear her sing and can't wait for the album to drop, I guess you could come to the World Cup of Dodgeball this Saturday......she's going to sing the National Anthem :)

RyanMuirhead.com
My good buddy Ryan Muirhead asked me to shoot some images of him for his website. Here's what we came up with.
As you will see, Ryan is the proud owner of the Canon 5D, a Hasselblad which I am coveting, and last but not least - the ever impressive Holga.

This could be my new favorite of all time. That's Ryan holding his light meter.

I felt like taking some pictures the other night....so I pulled these bums of the street for a few shots :) Happy Day of Labor, or lack thereof.

They are so happy together...

Canon sd 800
I went to the Bodyworld exhibit last week with Amber and found a new favorite place to take photos....The California Science Center in LA.
Sadly I opted not to take my good camera since I knew I would have to leave it in the car, but........little Mr. Canon SD 800 (my point and shoot compact take everywhere camera) was a kind 3rd wheel and performed beyond my expectations.
The SD 800 + cool surroundings + a hot subject = rad photos.

Neils, Aida, Piofme, Christie and Bouncy Ball
I like my friends, they are great. Had a good time Friday evening doing some shots with some tasty new gear. I just love that Mr. Canon guy.

Neils is such a stud

I grabbed this one of James as he was coming home from surfing, hence the intense suntan lotion on the face to protect that porcelain skin of his.

Then Mr. Sanchez rolled up with his Stunna Shades on

This is Piofme, or Pete for short.

Then me and Dre headed over to the elementary school up the street for some photo luvin with Christie Moe.

Here's my favorite.

Taco Mesa - Costa Mesa, CA
Taco Mesa is spanish for "the taco mesa." Not only do they have great food, but some crazy awesome wall structures that happened to be painted well good mate.
Me, Pete and Dre headed over there Friday after work for some photo shootin. Good times.
I happened to read Skate Boarder Magazine quite a bit growing up...hence my attraction to this particular sticker.

Rusty light pole. Mr. Salad Fingers would go nuts on this thing.

Taco Mesa in all its glory

Dre really embraced my direction to sit down on the toilet :) Thanks for being such a good sport my Filipino Chinchilla.

Pete decided it would be a good time to come out of the closet. We're all ready proud of him.

Piofme

My co-favorite of the day. I like this one a lot.

The cooks from Taco Mesa couldn't get enough of Dre.... they kept coming out the back and wanted to take pictures with Dre and even brought us out free Melon Water. Thank you Dre for being so good looking that afforded us such good liquid fortune that day.

Action shot....whammy. Click here to see what this produced. Check out her stuff in her Flickr account...she is getting really good. Oh and she just started a blog, which resides on the world wide web here.

Andrea was Soda Ham hot

My other co-favorite of the day. Soda Ham hot Dre.

Good times this weekend with the Fam in Coronado. We're off to Disneyland tomorrow for the boy's first time. I'm hoping for some good images :) I'll get more posted tomorrow night.
Here's Will on our walk to The Del. He's such a pimp.

the lezlie + some hot carlness
These two chiquitas happen to be some of my favs of all time. I used to have The Lezlie in my life more often, but she decided to leave the beach and move to Utah to pursue some higher education. I think the real reason lies in the fact that her and Carly of kind into one another. Whatever.
Regardless, I'm glad we all got to chill for a bit while I was in Utah this past week for the weddings. We had a "quaint" BBQ on my mom's back porch and had some tasty light coming in at sunset....so I grabbed the camera for some glamour shots. Brace yourself for female awesomeness.....
Not only does Lezlie have amazing dance moves...but a whole lot of sex appeal.

This is probably my favorite pic of Lezlie of all time.....this picture tells the story of who she really is.
You'd all be wise to be her friend up in SLC - your life would instantly increase awesomeness ten-fold.

Then it was Hot Carl's turn for a little sexy time with the camera. This is why we call her Hot Carl.

Are you freaking kidding me with this one Carly!?!?!?!?
NOTE TO ALL MEN: If you do not like this picture - YOU ARE GAY and should start going out with other men.

Miss you gals. August is going to rule!

the davis family...
...is actually spanish for freaking radness. It's true, I would hear people say it in Mexico all the time.
The Davis fam rules. I had so much fun hanging out with them. Warren (the strapping young physician-to-be pictured below is my friend from church and also happens to be featured on my banner image of the blog....see if you can find him. Thanks for such a good time Los Davis. Here's a few of my favorites.
This little princess stole the show...and rightly so. She is just incredible.

Mom teaching her first born how to touch her nose with her tongue.

Brother and his wife....another fellow accountant friend that has chosen to go work for the dark side.

Ok, both of these hommies are single ladies...leave your phone number below in the comments and I'll pass it on.

So the baby was adorable, Warren and his brothers are quite entertaining, but this guy below was the one who really stole the show. Papa Warren was a riot. I told him to go up against the wall, and this is what he did. Maybe he's just used to it by now after so many encounters with the law :)

I will say however, that every time you meet a great man...there is almost always an incredible woman by his side. Mrs. Davis is that woman. You know how you'll be walking in the grocery store or mall and see a couple still holding hands and affectionate after several years of marriage - well Mr. and Mrs. Davis are that type. It was comforting to still see the fire in their eyes.

So for these next two...the boys managed to wander off and find an obstacle. These pictures tell the story of what they are like when they all get together - complete awesomeness.

I'm way behind...
...with my blogging. It was a busy weekend. I woke up at the crack of dawn to get ready for The Davis Family, then headed out to Idllywild for some camping. Here's a few sneak peeks of what's to come.
Special thanks goes out to my special little helper....Andrea Filio. I couldn't have done it without you.

I could have taken pictures of this family all day....they were the definition of awesomeness!

Trees at Idllywild.

Logan was just soaking it up. I laugh every time I look at this pic. I'll get the rest up soon.

Hot Carl
When Carly isn't on one of her two phones, she can usually be found posing for top fashion photographers in empty parking lots. I was lucky enough to catch these few shots of her as she accomplished both above stated activities.
She also enjoys massaman curry from Sawadee, the Shiny Toy Guns in concert and large crowds of rambunctious underage sweaty youth.

Tory + Emily Sue
I was out in the street this afternoon testing out some new settings on my camera...and found a few models walking by. They were kind enough to sit down in the street for me and practice their ANTM moves.
These images are all straight out of the camera, with the exception off adding sepia tone to the two below. That's it. Cheers Mr. Canon.

More Hams and then some...
If you have kids/nieces/nephews/or other children that you associate with on a regular basis, then you need to take them to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway in Salt Lake City. They will love it. My whole fam went their on Saturday morning with the mini Hams and had a blast. The boys loved it.
Will's favorite is the big ball machine. He would hang out with that thing all day if he could. And Henry loved finding Elmo (or "Melmo" as he calls him). The mini stud doesn't know many words yet, but he's got the red furry friend all figured out.

Just checking on his balls

Will loves chillin with Grandma

This little guy was into everything. Good thing you could smell the chlorine in the water from the front door.

Aunt Lauren having fun with Mini Ham #2

One of Henry's favorite things to do is climb. He will try and climb anything. Seemed fitting for him to try his hand on the real stuff.

Balls

Chillin with Momma and of course...the balls

Word has it that Will could make a cameo appearance at the next Open Mic night at The Villa....stay tuned. Kris Sundberg from Chili Davis now has competition.
Ok, now things are about to get ridiculously rad. As soon as Henry spotted "Melmo" he wouldn't let go of him. Grandma felt too bad trying to take it from him, so he ended up with a new toy courtesy of Grams.

He had 3 Elmo's in this one I think - he just kept grabbing them.

I love the colors on this one. It could be my favorite portrait of him thus far.

What kid doesn't love McDonald's french fries...? Heck, I'm like 5 times his age and still love them.

Big Brother and his boy.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! "The elevator left without us!"

A trip home wouldn't have been complete without a little snow. Here's a shot off our back porch. I look at this photo and am reminded of the great painter Bob Ross. I can imagine him saying "Oh lets put a happy little tree over here. Ok, now lets give him a friend....maybe a couple friends. I used to love watching his show. RIP Bob.

Sneak Peek...
I know I promised to post more tonight...but it's late. I'm tired. The images are done, but will have to wait until tomorrow. Here's a couple to hold you over.
FYI...I'm wearing my BYU jersey to work tomorrow in support of my team. May the giant Yoda in the sky grant the Cougars swiftness and awesomeness as they battle Texas. Go Cougs.

Mini Hams
So here's a good start to my blogging for my trip home this weekend. A trip home wouldn't be complete without a trip to the sacred temple of juicy tender pork - Cafe Rio....especially since they just built one right next to my Bro's new townhome :)
Pork burrito, black beans, hot sauce, enchilada style please.
I'll post our trip to the Discovery Museum tomorrow. Tengo sueno.

My sister came and picked me up from the airport. We drove straight to see my nephews and this is how we found them - running around outside playing on the jungle gym.....I love these guys. Buggers and runny noses - just the way a kid should be :)

Then it was time for some applesauce at home. Henry will eat just about anything, even non-edible stuff like spoons.

Now to big brother Will. I think the second picture is a great portrait....but the 3rd is just classic Will.

This kid puts anything and everything in his mouth. I read somewhere in a scholarly peer-reviewed journal that it's a true sign of awesomeness in children. He's a Cunningham.....makes sense I guess since we believe in the pursuit of awesomeness and all other things and stuff pertaining to the act of being or becoming awesome.

So Andrea happened to grab this shot of me chillin with the kids toy. Kind of embarrassing, but let me explain. The pig I am holding makes snoring noises if you squeeze its hand. The sound is actually quite soothing and relaxing. I may or may not have been relaxing to the sounds of Wilbur. Only Andrea knows the truth.

I'll get more posted tomorrow.

Can't hardly wait
To see these little guys. I'm flying up to Utah late Friday night to spend a couple days with my family since my Brother and Sis-N-Law will be in town from Washington D.C. I don't get to see these little guys enough.... so I jump on any opportunity I can to see them.
To date, I don't have any kids, nor do I have someone to create kids with....sigh. However, seeing my little hommies makes me excited for when that time comes. I know it will be a lot of work and suck pretty bad at times, but I'm a firm believer in that there's no greater joy in this life than the joy one experiences from having a family.
I can't hardly wait to see and hear them shout "Unka Mike - Unka Mike!"

Tessa Mae
Greetings and Happy Oh Ate! This post goes out to some of my closest peeps to date. Cody has been a great friend of mine since we were freshman at college. 3 years ago he and I came down to California for Andrew and Ashley's wedding and little did we know we'd be rolling away with Cody having met his Eternal Baby Doll. Cody and Nikki were married 8 months later (I being his best man of course since I had to play wingman the whole time we were in CA) and now they have a miniature human being.
Her name is Tessa Mae, and she just turned 1. Still to this day there is question about whether or not there's a possibility of me being her father :) but until the DNA comes back I'll settle for Godfather status.
We all got to meet up on New Years day out at Ryan and Erica's and take some pics for her birthday. Also in attendance was the infamous Lezlie Wagner from The Thunder From Down Under. I wish we all lived closer like back in the days of the 832 Belmont Express and The Lumberjack.

Cody was making fun of me for one of my blog posts and then said he wanted me to post this picture of him, then try and guess what he was thinking..... Well I'm going to guess you are thinking in your head... "Gosh, I love Mike's siiiick new kicks. I wish he would give them to me. Wait a minute....if this tree falls over, I am going to be hosed. I wonder what the Lumberjack would do if it fell? Make a flannel log cabin out of it? I doubt it. I bet he didn't even have a saw. I wonder if this sprinkler head has pipe dope around the threads?? They should really look into that. I should probably go somewhere else and think stupid thoughts." Cody works for Valley Crest.

Self timer :)

I taught Cody how to use the camera and he was kind enough to snap some pics of my new kicks.......SOOO SICK!!!

Jerky anyone??

This is how us Mormons kick a New Year's Day Hangover.... we smoke pretzels and drink Diet Coke Lime. We really live on the edge. Ryan could hardly stand up once he finished his lime cocktail, and Cody reeked of sodium. I need new friends.

before i leave...
For Utah tomorrow, I wanted to post a few more pics from my trip home for Thanksgiving.
There is one thing you should know... we keep it real at my house. By that I mean we play Mexican Train Dominoes. Come talkin' trash and you will get served quick. No Hustla's allowed :)

This is my cousin Ashley and her Fam.

Jackson, son of John and Shana. Easily super rad on a scale from one to ten million. This kid is going to straight clean house with the ladies when he's older.

My buddy Garvy and his Fam. Still to this day I am amazed at the quality of girls my buddies are able to talk into marriage, despite being some of the largest tools in the shed. Kristen is rad, and so is there son Roman.

...And you thought I was just tossing him under the bus.... look at him!
I asked for Billowy and this is what he gave me...

Roman was flashing gang signs at me right before I took this one. Kris got mad at him and told him to stop, hence the serious face. You can still see a little Westside coming through though - good to see he's got it all figured out at such a young age.

Mas Familia Por Favor
Here's a continuation of the Thanksgiving pictures that I took while at home in Utah. Also, **please note** this is Lauren's (my lovely sister :) debut to the Digital Orange blog. She got a little upset with me earlier because she hadn't made an appearance yet....apparently she's kind of a big deal and wants all of you to know it.
One thing you should know about my Sis: she loves the Buddies (Will and Henry) more than anyone and they love her. As soon as they walk in the door to Geemaa's (Grandma) house they start asking for her.

Brear Rabbit was my favorite book when I was a kid. The part where the Brear Rabbit would laugh in the thorn bushes would get me every time. Will would make my sister read this book to him several times before he went to sleep.

Ok, switching gears here a bit. This is Bob and Stef's girl Elle. Their last name is Woods.......get it yet? This is the up-and-coming Elle Woods. Although not legally blonde, she is adorable and appears to have some courtroom flare with this shot. Bob was trying to negotiate a settlement - and she was not having it!

Bob realizing he just gave in to her terms..... get used to it buddy :) She's going to own you! LOL

His most important client...

This is Tyler and Erica's girl Claire: equally awesome!

This is Ashley and Kevin's son Spencer
