Pan Yu-Lin was a Chinese national who, after an horrendous childhood of brothel slavery, was sponsored to study painting in Paris. She returned to China for a short spell but died in Paris in 1977 and is now hailed as the leading ‘cross-over’ artist of her generation. For a retrospective of her work at Beijing’s Capital Museum, Christine created a collection of jewellery art in response to her paintings: these are seen her in conjunction with their inspirations.
