2009 (So Far):
Well the summer ended and School started-including Sabrina’s first day in an all day 4K program at the public school here.
She was SO excited to ride the bus and be at the ‘big kids’ school and is already doing great.
The girls went to Mississippi for 2 weeks to enjoy time with Larry and to be with him on his birthday. The trip was filled with
good family time, and great friends whom we loved seeing.
A quick weekend in New York City allowed us to celebrate Nonna Sonia’s (Jamie’s Grandmother) 80th Birthday. In addition to a beautiful celebration and seeing lots of the Eisenberg family, we were also able to get some fun time in with Aunt Jori and Uncle Matty, and even have a wonderful lunch with Grandpa Koff and Irene.
Katelyn celebrated her 8th Birthday (where have the years gone?) in style-gymnastics, that is. At her gymnastics school, she
had a party with friends from school and Girl Scouts.
Bubbie & PaPa came for a long weekend. We were delighted to show them our side of the country and share both their
wedding anniversary and Sabrina’s 1st dance recital with each other.
Grandma came for 2 1/2 weeks (she thinks it should qualify as “time served” for her next big offense) to help with the girls,
their end of the school year parties, and with Jamie as she recovered from surgery. Everything went well, and Jamie’s
mom is safely at home, still recovering.
Grandma came over our Spring Break and after we spent a week touring Atlanta, Nonno joined us just in time to celebrate
Easter and Passover-the hunt was on the year, but both girls found lots of eggs and the afikomin.
Jamie FINALLY got a JOB-YEAH! She is now teaching swimming lessons at our local dive center and enjoying the part-time,
family friendly job, where she gets to play in the pool with kids that she gets to send home with somebody else :D
Sabina WON THE LOTTERY!!!! She was chosen as one of the 20 4 year olds to attend the public school next year, meaning
she gets a full day of mental stimulation (which she desperately needs), and, more importantly, she gets to ride the school
bus with all the other big kids at the bus stop next year!
We have mourned the loss of Larry’s Grandfather, who is no longer suffering from the horrible effects of Alzheimer's Disease,
and although it is not the best way to have a family reunion, it was nice seeing the entire Klein family.
We also were very excited for the number of weddings that have started the new year off right (although we were very upset we
weren’t able to make all of them!)CONGRATS Danielle & Brendan, Sue & Al, and Aubrey & Debbie.
As the year continues we are looking forward to:
We have nothing planned so far-but we’ll see what happens to come up :D
2008 Year in Review:
2008 was been very busy. . . We officially moved into the new house in Georgia and have almost completely unpacked, and have settled in finally. Larry is in his new job in Mississippi and is enjoying teaching again. The girls miss him during the week, but are keeping busy with school, homework, gymnastics, dance, and drama classes. We’ve enjoyed the company of the Waits’s, the Chunn’s, the soon-to-be Jacobs’s and the Kirkendall’s, Uncle Danny, and the Hare’s-weren’t we spoiled to have so many people we love come and visit!
Turkey in Tucson was a fun quiet trip. Papa surprise Sabrina with a trip to the Miniature Train Museum-both were kids
in a toy store (although nothing was for sale). Both of the girls had fun going to the zoo and their favorite was Bubbie’s
Ice Cream Turkey from Baskin’ Robins.
Jori & Matt’s Wedding-a wonderful week of seeing family, friends and enjoying all the fun things New York City has to
offer, including The Little Mermaid on Broadway, The M&M Store, The Girl Scouts World Headquarters, The Statue of
Liberty (aka Lib-ber-ey), the Empire State’s Building, and Special birthday viewing of HSM3 with the Bride.
Sabrina’s Fishy Birthday Party at Jumpin’ JellyBeans was a splash.
Thanks to generous birthday and holiday gifts, we’ve gotten to know Atlanta and are keeping busy with memberships to the
Art Museum, The Aquarium, The Children’s Museum, The Atlanta Zoo, Children’s Symphony Series, and the
Katelyn and Sabrina Started their new schools. Second Grade and the 3 year old class are lots of fun with very nice teachers
and new friends.
Larry has returned to Columbus, MS as a Simulator Instructor while the girls continue to move into the new house in
Atlanta (hopefully without Jamie self-inflicting any more injuries).
The Economic recession our nation is currently in has directly affected our home-Larry got furloughed from the airline
industry
Larry officially separated from the Air Force and now Co-Pilots the 717 for AirTran.
Jamie & Larry had a quick mini-trip in Napa, CA where they also got to attend Megan &
Robert’s Wedding.
Larry escorted Katelyn to the Father-Daugher Dance.
Katelyn Celebrate her 7th Birthday with her friends from school
Katelyn & Sabrina finished 1st grade & Pre-School with lots of celebrations
We had to pack up and say a tearful good-bye to Columbus, our home for the last 5 years
