This web site is our attempt to stay connected with family and friends now that we are living half way around the world. For those of you who don’t know, in February 2006, Joanna and I took teaching positions at a private English academy in South Korea.

We hope that you enjoy this site, and that it gives you some insight into our day-to- day lives here.

Our Korean Plan

Several factors played a role in our decision to come to South Korea.

1. Joanna and I needed to do field research in order to complete our M.A.’s in Intercultural Studies.

2. Joanna needs to spend four years overseas, and learn a foreign language fluently, if she is to pursue a Ph.D in Intercultural Studies in the future.

3. I (William) am also preparing for future study, 4. The adventure, life experience, fun and money all come together to make our stay worthwhile.
