The client brief was to take data on a complete product range and automate the generation of point of sale (POS) material. The data for the system was already being held on a FileMaker Pro database and used for a number of purposes. Using AppleScript, FileMaker Pro and REALbasic workflow, a system was built that takes client data, builds Quark documents, generates stepped up artwork and produces final press ready documents.

 

The system has made possible the production of store specific, ranged POS for a major UK supermarket chain, with over 400,000 pieces of POS being generated and run to press in a few days.
