My friend, Martha Richards, has invented SWAN Day, an international holiday in support of women artists. The first SWAN Day, in 2008, was celebrated with over 160 events in 11 countries.
My friend, Gwen Avery is a performer and human being so amazing that she has inspired me to shoot a documentary about her life -- and to produce her on SWAN Day.
Gwen gives a compelling performance that gets my body and soul MOVING! Her connection with her audience is powerful. If you've never seen her, then you must come. If you've seen her many times, you know she always gives a great show.

For more information on SWAN Day, go to the website of the Fund for Women Artists.
Bird & Beckett is a very wonderful bookstore that has been a welcoming space to artists and progressive political candidates (like me when I was the Green candidate for Congress in 2004). Please support Gwen, SWAN Day, and Bird & Beckett by coming to the show.
