Jan and Renate Smith welcome you into their home in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. We can welcome you in English, French or German. Some Spanish and Italian is also understood and Jan speaks about ten words of Arabic and Japanese.
We are both aviation veterans and lifelong travelers and know well how nice it is to come home to a comfortable and quiet room after a day spent exploring the city. Besides being the City of Lights, Paris is also the City of Food, Culture, History, Art and Architecture, and of course Shopping.

We would be happy to help you find the Paris that you imagined.

The 14th arrondissement is more of a left bank village than a tourist or business quarter. This is a neighborhood of artists and artisans, of markets and small shops, lots of bistros and cafes that have resisted the rush to franchise, restaurants for all tastes and budgets and wine bars that are called historical.

Here you find the butcher that serves the president and the Jazz club where the musicians hang out after they finished their evening elsewhere. Your breads and croissants will come from one of the best Boulangeries of Paris and Rue Daguerre markets will provide us with all the rest.

We have several theaters and cinemas close by. The beautiful Parc de Montsouris as well as other green spaces tucked away here and there invite you to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and lots of bicycle lanes allow you to explore Paris in a new way.
The 14th is known as the green arrondissement and a favorite with visitors who look for a genuine Parisian experience. And we have the best place to watch the 14th of july fireworks.

Our place is 1 minute from the Metro station Alesia, 5 minutes from the RER station Denfert-Rochereau serving both Airports.
At 15 minutes to the center by Metro we are never far from any tourist attraction. In 30 minutes by foot, taking lovely side streets through the Cimetiere de Montparnasse and the Jardin de Luxembourg, you will be in the Latin quarter or walk along the Seine, unless of course, you are seduced to stop along the way.

We offer you a quiet and comfortable non-smoking and air-conditioned room on a separate floor with its own bathroom and direct access to a large terrace where you may take your breakfast made to order, weather permitting.
