INTRODUCTION
What is the Flying Aces Club Europe (FACE)?
FACE is an attempt to bring outdoor free flight scale aeromodelling back into vogue in Europe (if you have never heard of free flight scale click here) . At present free flight scale activity seems to be limited to the United Kingdom and the Czech republic with a few isolated individuals (like me) or small groups of enthusiasts scattered in between (please correct me if I am wrong). We therefore have the following goals: 1. Connect all of the existing free flight scale enthusiasts in Europe via the internet. 2. Establish a European outdoor free flight scale competition scene that is focused on vigorous but fun competition, similar to the Flying Aces Club (FAC) scene that is flourishing in the United States and Australia, but different in the sense that the events flown and the rules will be tailored to the interests of European free flight scale enthusiasts. 3. Attract more people to free flight scale modelling in Europe. Connect with the FAC and start to run FAC-FACE competitions in Europe. Ultimately, we want to keep the elements of the FAC that we like, modify those that need modification and introduce our own Euro events. For some more information about the FAC click here.

How do we achieve these goals?
This web page is the first step in the process of linking people together via the internet. We want to assemble a list of names and email address from across Europe so that we can keep in touch, pass information and announcements, and plan events. (So if you live in Europe and you are interested in FF scale send me your email address!) . b.guest(at)iaag.geo.uni-muenchen.de or better yet visit our google groups page and sign onto our mailing list.

Another step is to establish some FAC style events at the only existing outdoor scale competition in continental Europe: Open Scale near Brno in the Czech Republic. The aim here is to expose open scale attendees to competition events other than those that they are accustomed to (the Czechs for example traditionally fly only pistachio, peanut and 1/20th scale). For Open scale 2008 we have proposed 7 new events that will only be scheduled if there is enough interest (more than ten entrants per event). The main short-term aim of this web page is to help publicize the new Open Scale 2008 events. Click here for details on the Open scale 2008 events and event schedule.

I hope you find this page useful and interesting, visit often!.
Also, please support us in achieving our goals by sending me your email and by attending FACE sponsored competitions.

Thanks for visiting.

The site though administered and payed for by me (Bernard Guest) is now, as I had hoped, a collaborative effort by free flight scale enthusiasts across Europe. Any errors you find however, are solely my responsibility and I would appreciate it greatly f you would drop me a line via email to let me know so that I can fix it.
