1st. International Indoor Fly-In
15 and 16 March
Jan Massinkhal
Nijmegen, Netherlands

The Nijmeegse Luchtvaart Club would like to invite you for a new event on the international free flight
calendar; the First International Indoor Fly-In! This event has been run for several years on a national
level and 2008 will be the premiere for attracting flyers from abroad as well. Our intention is to make this
a recurring event, this will however depend on interest.
The preliminary schedule for the event:
Saturday 15 March. 8.00-19.00
Sunday 16 March 8.00-18.00
A detailed schedule will be provided at the end of February to the flyers that have entered.
Location
The hall we will use is the Jan Massinkhal, located in the outskirts of Nijmegen. The characteristics of
the hall are a 2400 square meters floor, height is nearly 8 meters (Cat. 1 hall). The ceiling is fairly
smooth and unobstructed.
Adres of the hall is Jan Massinkhal, Nieuwe Dukenburgseweg 5 , Nijmegen.
Contest
We will be flying contests in several classes. The classes are: F1D, F1M,F1M small (Juniors), Sainte,
Pistachio, F4F (Peanut) F4D (Open scale rubber) and F4E (Open scale electric/CO2). The judging rules
used for the scale classes will be similar to the ones used in the Interscale and British Indoor Scale
Nationals competitions, the duration rules will follow the standard rules. Please check our website for
more details. Flying other types of models is of course allowed as well; in the definitive schedule there
will be time allocated for this. There will also be time available for trimming.
The F1M small class is used in the Netherlands for juniors and beginners. Rules are similar to the
standard F1M rules, with the only deviation being a limit of the wing chord to 160 mm.
Proxy flying: it is possible in the Peanut and Pistachio class to sent in your model for proxy flying. The
entry fee for this is €5,- Please contact us for more details about this and how to arrange it.
We will also do a Pylon race. The models used for this should more or less resemble a real plane.
Eligible for this are scale models, Bostonians and similar models.

Prizes
In all classes the best three flyers will receive a prize. Also in Peanut and F4D the best junior will also
receive a prize.
In addition to this there will be an award for highest placed scale model in it’s class for a model of Dutch
design or built by Dutch factories. Eligible for this are planes built by Fokker, Koolhoven, Pander etc.
Note that this also includes planes that Dutch designers did for factories outside the Netherlands too;
examples being Koolhoven in the UK for B.A.T., Fokker in WW 1 in Germany.
Accommodation
Together with this invitation you’ll find a list of Accommodations close to the hall. Besides this list there
are more options, check www.vvvnijmegen.nl under “accommodation” for a list with more options.
