1126 southlawn
my original home, this is where my parents live.  conveniently placed 5 blocks from fairview, i occasionally stop in for a meal or to play with bandit the dog.  along with the dog, mom and dad live here, as well as my sister when she’s not in school.  the specs: 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, walk out upper back porch (w/ hot tub), walk out lower back porch, backyard is another back porch, side yard patio (the brock family loves leisure space, and hates grass), washer/dryer, brand new kitchen appliances, hard wood floors, two car garage, atrium with living tree.

reno’s east
summer time stomping ground, reno’s is home to the largest patio i’ve ever seen.  matt burke and i spent almost every evening there, to the point that we didn’t have to order drinks, and the wait staff was usually happy to see us.  needless, to say, i am looking forward to next summer.

beggar’s banquet
a favorite spot for me and my friends, beggar’s is one of the nicest restaurants in east lansing, but also a great place for a couple drinks.  half-off wine on wednesday is always a pull, as well as live jazz on saturday nights.
peanut barrel
if you’re lonely and need an archaeologist to talk to, peanut barrel is the place to go.  small, cozy, and smoky, the barrel has good beer and great burgers.  plus, the patio is one of the nicest in the city - i have spent many a summer day at the barrel.
espresso royale
the coffee shop downtown.  good coffee, and again, always an anthropologist near by.
