St. Petersburg, Russia - Day 2

Friday, August 1, 2008

We saw a bunch of great things today. Tonight we gain back a lost hour.

We started the day with a one hour drive to Peterhof, a summer residence of the Russian Czars. This allowed all 4 of us a great chance to catch up on some sleep. It is a magnificent place with the palace, 150 fountains, and gardens.

We then drove (slept) back to St. Petersburg. We arrived at the Yusupov Palace. This is where the assassination of Rasputin took place. There is a picture of the recreation below.

After this, we went to the Church of Resurrection on the Spilled Blood. This is an incredible sight. The colors are unreal! This is the most famous sight in St. Petersburg.

All four of us are very happy to get back to the ship. We are tiring of some of the rude, annoying people on the bus. The Ugly American Syndrome always amazes me.
