Mint, Oregano and four kinds of Basil

I believe there’s a lot of very simple beauty available to us all if we only use our hearts and minds and the raw materials available to us.

These two Fiesta Ware pitchers are new.  New to me and to the world, they are not the old genuine Fiesta ware.  They are lovely and they weren’t expensive.  Sue & I found them on our Road Trip just off the highway on the way into Fulton.

During the summer when things grow wild in Dallas (if you keep them watered), I have a super abundance of herbs that proper care requires I trim back the plants and have tons to throw away.  I know I could dry it but it’s never as good dry and Gorn usually gets me a green house of some sort that I manage to have several herbs growing all winter.  When I do throw any of it away, I call my self a rich bitch.  So, rather than throw it all out, I bring it in and cook with it from my flower pitchers.  It keeps fresh long enough until it’s time to trim again.

It’s lovely in the sunshine.

Hope there is beauty in your day and your kitchen.
