Howe Public Schools is proud to offer your child an opportunity to attend a Summer Enrichment Program for Grades K-5. The summer program is scheduled for Monday-Friday, June 2nd - 27th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The thematic four-week program will be designed around the theme, “Exploring The Rainforest”. This program will incorporate Reading and Math Intervention/Enrichment as the students take a journey through the tropical Rainforest!
Other activities during the summer program will include: a nutritious lunch, technology-based activities, and several off-campus field trips, including attending presentations through the Heavener Public Library.
The Summer Enrichment Program will provide not only academic reinforcement and enrichment, but also will allow for a fun, engaging four weeks of new experiences, opportunities, and friendships.
If you are interested in your child participating in the Summer Enrichment Program at Howe Public Schools, please fill out this form: Summer Enrollment Flyer 2008.pdf and return to the elementary office by Friday, May 9. Students whose forms are received after this date will be placed on a waiting list. Once your child is enrolled, you will receive additional information about the program.

Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climate, and lots of rain. In some rainforests it rains more than one inch every day!

Madagascar is 2% of Africa's landmass but has 10,000 species of plants -- 80% are endemic (found no where else in the world).
Tropical rainforests act as a global air conditioner -- by storing and absorbing carbon dioxide from the air, storing the carbon, and releasing fresh, clean oxygen.
