Hundreds of high school and middle school students from dozens of schools across the planet are preparing to produce stories that challenge their ability to take a topic and turn it into a finished television feature story in a matter of a few days. The annual STN Challenge scholastic broadcasting contest, which is in its fifth year, starts with a simple assignment delivered by a web page on the STN website and via an e-mail to the STN List-Serv. By midnight Wednesday, October 10th, the deadline is due and those stories are due in their completed form, to then be postmarked, or already in the process of being delivered to the STN corporate offices in Missouri. This year's contest is no different, although students from North America will compete with students from Japan for the very first time.
The topics are as follows:
2007 STN News Feature Challenge Topic
"When people act, things happen."
2007 STN Sports Feature Challenge Topic
"Don't give up. Don't ever give up."
HS cle live! team 3 (a.k.a. team fortitude) entered the Sports feature challenge. the team members spent many additional hours afterschool and at lunch to complete their video story. good luck everyone!
