Tacoma-Kitakyushu Sister City Committee The City of Tacoma has ten Sister Cities around the world with Kokura (Later becoming Kitakyushu) being the first Sister City relation established in 1959. The Tacoma-Kitakyushu Committee is made up of individuals from all walks of life who are Tacoma-Pierce County citizens. They each have a particular interest in Kitakyushu, Japan and the Japanese culture. The committee is committed to helping all individuals who have an interest in Kitakyushu and furthering international ties.
