Tongue Base Suture Suspension (Repose)
This is a minimally invasive version of the mandibular advancement and genioglossus advancement (MOGA) procedure for tongue base collapse.

A small titanium screw is inserted in the midline lower border of the jawbone and a permanent suture is passed around the back of the tongue, suspending the tongue base to prevent collapse when sleeping (see below). There are two ways of doing this: One way is to go through the mouth underneath the tongue through a small incision, or if one also needs to do a hyoid myotomy and suspension (HMS), then both can be done through a small neck incision. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
