The Start of Something New
in an effort to help advance my writing style and to keep me in practice, i've decided that maybe i should start an online blog, both on myspace and on my website. This writing is not necessarily going to be about writing or school. it might be about new things that I'm planning to do or things that i've done or have been thinking about lately.
Currently, I'm trying to practice editing so that i can have a nice video to send to STA travel for my application to be an intern for two months over the summer and travel the world, bungee jumping and finally getting my chance to climb the sydney harbor bridge. If that doesn't work, then there's always the option of just hanging out with Gerald over the summer which would make me incredibly happy as well because I miss him a lot.
I've been thinking about my application and why they should pick me to go on this trip and podcast and blog for them. What is it that makes me a good candidate. I LIKE to think it's because I'm not going to give

Decisions and school work
Something I’ve been pondering about for some time now is whether or not to apply for a job at the BBC. They had come to the University to find people to help them with a new project called BBC T(een) aimed towards 12-17 year olds. I had two different pilot ideas and had already started writing the first five pages of the main one that I had been working on for a long time. Also, I had been thinking about the application questions for a while and finally managed to get them all down to 250 words. Some of those questions were quite broad and needed more exposition than 250 would really allow, but as a writing I embraced the challenge. I got down the word count and went online to submit it and they only allowed 4000 characters! With even the minimum word count and not having answered one of the questions I was already at 5,039 characters. At that point it was decided that it just wasn’t worth it. I need to finish my degree first and I couldn’t see myself re-establishing myself in a

The issues with blogging...
I’m often astonished as to how often people can keep up with blogging. Gerald’s brother, Paul, in particular seems to have to new blog every other if not every day. Isn’t the point of a diary that your life is private? I never kept a diary because people will inevitably read it and then all those secrets are out. When it comes to blogs, everything, that you decide to tell, is out there for everyone to see. Suddenly, because the internet, everyone knows who you know and what you and them have been saying to each other, what they are currently arguing or joking about, who everyone is dating, who vomited profusely last Saturday night. I have a friend who recently had to bit of a problem with this actually. She had been talking to someone she was told by an ex-boyfriend not to keep in contact with and when he found out he untagged her-the internet version perhaps of saying. “I have no ex-girlfriend.”
Are these new forms of social interacting helping or hindering out relationships?

Pictures to come soon...
April 15th, 2007
The first thing I should probably go over would be my vacation. I feel SO much better since I got home, slept in my own bed, and got to see my really close friends at home. I didn’t really get to see everyone or see people as much as I wanted to (sorry!) but that was because I went with my family to TELLURIDE, CO and then when I got home I had so much to do. If you know anything about me you know I LOVE Telluride. It’s this little historical town an hour and a half from Montrose airport so it’s totally secluded, meaning no lines at the ski lifts. Once mining was no longer a major source of income for the down it became deserted and was then taken over by hippies. Now it’s a totally cool liberal, artistic town with plenty to offer including high class food and shopping. It’s totally eclectic and you REALLY never know what is going to happen. For example, I was shopping with my sister and mother and walked into a really girly store. I took a couple steps, looked up

I’m awful at blog writing...
...mainly because I forget to do it. Sigh.
Okay...so I haven’t covered two important holidays. Like christmas and New Years. As time goes on you forget about what happened though. Both holidays were lovely. New years eve was an awful rainy night though with winds so fast and furious it blew fences down! So, that night we didn’t go out and just had a quiet new years night at Gerald’s house with his parents and brother, Tery, and his wife, Yasmin.
I feel awful because I should really be writing more about it...Let me think...
CHRISTMAS
Christmas was quite a celebration I suppose. I mainly say that because there were 10 of us there for christmas dinner. This included: Gerald’s parents, Gerald and I, Tery and Yasmin, Yasmin’s sister Asma and her daughter Zara, and Gerald’s grandparents. There was the opening of the presents, which took a while because Zara had ALOT! And dinner was delicious!
That’s really all i can think of to say...sad! I’ll keep trying to write more often.
