Perhaps one of the most difficult ‘finds’ in the ukulele community, this is a premium example of a 1920s Lyon & Healy 5K Tenor in all original condition. Curly Koa face, back and sides with mahogany neck. Ebony fretboard, bridge, and headstock cap. Shell rosette around soundhole and inlay on soundboard, fretboard, headstock, and back. Heel cap on back of neck and classic ‘needle-top’ bridge pins. Original hardshell case inclusive. The Lyon & Healy 5K Tenor is said to be more rare than the illusive Martin 5K Tenor. Indeed, a beautiful historical piece that parallels the craftsmanship and tonal diversity of its counterpart, the Martin 5K Tenor.
