Today we gathered for another solemn ceremony to reflect on the loss and sacrifice that is war.  This year, it was illustrated by a moving slideshow created by Tara, Shadia and Mr. (Chris) Higgins.  The presentation blends archival Swansea school photos with images of Canadian soldiers from the early 1900’s to the present day.

    The video represents only one of literally hundreds of projects created by students in the Media Literacy program.  Starting in early October, Junior and Senior students learned about Canada’s evolving military history, then responded with poems, essays, posters and multimedia.  At the assembly, students read their poems, to a hushed audience.  As the two presiding veterans left Swansea, they praised the students for the quality and passion of their work.
