It must be August...the kids are climbing the walls! Everywhere in this country parents are hearing the same refrain “MOMMY, I am SO BORED!” Oh, I tried the old “OK, if you are bored you can help with the laundry!” as well as “Honey, it was just your birthday. You have so many projects to do, you have a brand new doll house to play with.”
But, instead, she climbed the walls. Honestly, I have Lauren pigeon-holed into this quiet academic type who will sit in the corner and read. Nope. Can’t read yet. Mostly I find her climbing the furniture. The other day she was climbing on the overturned kitchen chair. When I told her not to hurt the furniture she walked into the playroom and flipped over the ottoman of the glider (which glides). THEN we went to get Sabrina and she starts climbing behind her brand new headboard on her bed. “What is the deal, child?”
SO, the key is to get them outside. For bike rides, running races, swimming, hiking (they did an AWESOME job hiking at Shaver’s creek the other day). OR, another option, sign them up for camp at their preschool next week. Yep, that’s it!
