Stan became a follower of Christ in High School while he and his older brother were boarded at a Christian Childrens home in Juneau, Alaska. His parents lived in a small fishing settlement so, during the school year, the boys were sent to the childrens home in town. He spent his summers fishing commercially, and aspired to become a pilot.

He graduated from Moody Bible Institutes aviation program in Elizabethton, Tennessee and returned to Juneau to begin a career. This began with flight instruction in various areas including developing an FAA-approved flight school at Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska. In the 1970s he was a missionary pilot in Southeast Alaska, helping churches and ministry groups serve and reach some of the 70 logging camps and small villages. Other flight experience included commercial and corporate aviation all the while being active in church ministry in his home church in Juneau, Alaska.

In 1993 Stan graduated from Multnomah Seminary and has been the Pastor of Shepherd of the Valley since September 1996

From the time she was 10 years old, Dellene lived in southeast Alaska with her missionary parents. Her parents went to Alaska to work in a Childrens home, but soon found that their gifts were in other ministry. They pioneered both a new church plant and a well-known camp known as Echo Ranch Bible Camp in Juneau, Alaska.

Dellene is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Stan and Dellene were married in their home church and served together in the various parts of Southeast Alaska. Prior to moving to Portland, Oregon in 1990, Dellene was active in the (their “home” church) Auke Bay Bible Church childrens ministry and worked in the office of the Marie Drake Middle School for the Juneau/Douglas School District. While in Portland she held an office position in the Portland Adventist Medical Center Purchasing Department.

Shortly after settling into life in Hood River, Dellene began work in the Shepherd of the Valleys Christian School and Church office before the school merged with Summit Christian School, which is now the Horizon Christian School. She is currently working in the office of Horizon Christian School.

Stan and Dellene have two children and 8 grandchildren.
