Pete & Tina Matteson joined the staff of Shepherd of the Valley Bible Church in the fall of 2007. They have led worship in churches across America since 1991. They have also taught worship seminars for the purpose of training laypeople to lead their congregations. Originally from upstate New York and Athens, Greece, they first met at Colorado Christian University where they earned degrees in music and began their marriage. Once their traveling concert ministry, called Portrait, was established, they lived in Nashville, Tennessee for ten years.
The Mattesons are gifted songwriters as well as performers and have recorded three CD projects: First Impressions, Without a Second Thought and Songs in the Night.
In addition to their concert ministry in the United States, the Mattesons have traveled internationally on mission outreach trips, including Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Greece, Romania, Albania and, in 2004, a year-long assignment in Brussels, Belgium where they served as worship leaders at Cornerstone International Church.
The Mattesons have been married for 17 years and have three children, Alaska, Simon and Skye. Being found faithful to the Lord, their family, and their church will always be their most important achievement.
