Hi! I am wide awake at 4:30 this morning after being comatose most of the day. Lying in bed with my brain twirling around as there is a lot to think about. Had a Second Life lunch today with a New York Cares charity auction winner - we had lunch at the Blue Note offices and then did some things online in Second Life including going to an open mike, seeing some films at the Sundance Channel, and being surrounded by Gossip Girl Virtual Fans in Central park! Woo hoo! Next time I do that must remember to tell you guys about it beforehand.
Looking forward to the event later tonight at Borders - that’s an in-store signing at 7 at the Borders in the Time Warner building - a benefit for LIFEbeat, an AIDS charity. Come by! Let’s see - since we have been back our beloved tour manager and sound engineer Phil has been in the hospital for several days with an unspecified infection - it appears to be under control but he will be in there for at least a few more days! This tour has taken its toll! Whew! So send him your best wishes.
Also -- note to self -- remember to write letter to Rolling Stone magazine about their nasty comment about me in the Sheryl Crow article of the current issue (the one with Britney on the cover.)
I have been asked to perform on Earth Day this year - April 20 - and it look like I may play in Central Park, so that is good news and something to practice “Unbound” for! Check in for more news regarding that. Hope this pans out as that is a great cause.
Still haven’t written up our time in Perth, how we went to see Joe Cocker which was great. It was also fun seeing the frolicking women who threw themselves into the duck pond in front of the stage, especially the one who took off her shirt waving her large bosom at the audience. We saw Joe afterwards and he greeted me by saying “Oh hello Suzanne! Last time I saw you was the gig where I threw up!” Which was true and I had just been telling the band all about it.
Also Dougie and I spent a day at one of the local parks petting kangaroos and koalas. See above and pix. Oh and best wishes to Rufus Wainwright and Gerry and the guys who are playing at Radio City Music Hall! XOXO!
