The Sierra Buttes Lookout is one of the most spectacular fire lookouts on the planet. It is perched precariously on the summit block of the Sierra Buttes. It has commanding views of Mt Lassen, Mt. Shasta, The Gold Lake Basin, the Mohawk Valley, Jackson Meadows Reservoir, and Castle Peak. It is located between Sierra City and Graeagle off of the Gold Lake Highway. WARNING...stepping onto the Northeast corner of the catwalk is not for the faint of heart!
