Built by the U.S. Forest Service in 1914, Martis Peak Lookout is located between the towns of Truckee and Kings Beach off of 267 in the Tahoe National Forest. It is the only lookout that is featured on this website that is accessed via a paved road. It is manned during the fire season and it enjoys spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the High Sierra. Equipped with a public restroom and a picnic table, Martis Peak Lookout is a wonderful place for the entire family.
