Constructed in 1932, Grouse Ridge Lookout is located off of Highway 20 in the Tahoe National Forest. If you know where to look, it can be seen from Interstate 80 as you pass by Spaulding Reservoir. It has wonderful 360 degree views stretching from the Coast Range in the West, The Sierra Buttes to the North, to Old Man Mountain in the East. There are countless lakes in the area just a short walk from the lookout. There is also a public campground within a quarter mile of the lookout. The lookout is currently out of service.
