Big Hill Lookout is located off of Ice House Road in the Eldorado National Forest. It has amazing views of the Crystal Range to the East. The lookout is active in the fire season. The land around Big Hill was burned by the Cleveland Fire in 1992. Also located on Big Hill is a heli-port used as the seasonal base for an enormous fire fighting helicopter. The road is paved and there are educational displays for visitors as well as picnic tables.
