Susie Kagami
Searching for a connection to her heritage, Susie now utilizes her life-long skills to promote the Hawaiian culture by producing and booking Hawaiian music performances and workshops throughout the country.
Born and raised in California to Hawai’i born parents, she spent most of her childhood summers in the islands. Starting at age 7, her 12 years of music education gave her a diverse appreciation and understanding of the art of music. Influenced by her family’s rich history in design and architecture, she obtained her degree in Art with an Interior Design emphasis from San Jose State University. As design coordinator and manager of new-store openings for the US, she honed her problem solving, project and people management skills for retail moguls Esprit de Corp and Old Navy opening 300-500 stores per year. Her experiences now help manage the fast paced business aspects of creative minds to grow and share the gift of music.

‘Hawai’i Music Live’, founded by Susie Kagami, brings Aloha to the mainland through ‘ukulele and slack key guitar performances and workshops with Hawaiian music’s premier musicians. Working with local communities and Hawaiian music enthusiasts, it is the goal of Hawai’i Music Live to nurture and share the Hawaiian culture beyond the islands and connect people with the music, traditions and beauty of the Hawaiian Heritage.
Honored to work with Hawai’i’s most talented and legendary musicians, it has been our pleasure to serve the Hawaiian music communities and share the aloha, soul and love the music brings to those outside of Hawai’i. This year will mark 4 years working with these incredible people and talented musicians. Thank you to Keoki Kahumoku, Daniel Ho, Herb Ohta, Jr., Dennis Kamakahi, David Kamakahi, “Ohta-san”, George Kahumoku, Jr., Cyril Pahinui, Patrick Landeza, Nathan Aweau, Jeff Peterson, John Yamasato, Makaha Sons, Raitea Helm, and Augie T for allowing us to help share the special gift of Aloha with so many.
