Our Music Service Partners........

Salford Music and Performing Arts Service

We are charged with delivering curriculum support to Springwood Primary and Chatsworth High School and Community College in Salford on the service’s behalf.

Our relationship is now over 10 years established and provides a model for communication and development of ideas between mainstream providers. specialist contractors and the special needs sector.

An example of this would be the service inviting the Chatsworth Choir to take part in significant performance events within the City.

Bolton Music Service

For the second year running we are working in partnership with Bolton Music Service on their inclusion initiative.

The aim of the project is:-

To develop musical inclusion in schools in BMC

This project has been designed for pupils in mainstream primary schools who have been identified on the SEN register.

The work takes place with groups of six pupils drawn, but not mixed, from key stage 1 or 2.

Running weekly for a term pupils are encouraged to: -

•Develop participation skills when working within a group

•Develop turn taking skills

•Develop listening skills

•Respond to others when making music

•Participate as a soloist on tuned percussion or vocally

Blackburn with Darwen Music and Performing Arts Service

Over the past six years Blackburn Music and Arts Service has funded a range of inclusion projects in special schools, mainstream nurseries and pupil referral units.

For the academic year 2009-10 Music Unlimited will be working in the Sunnyhurst Centre and Newfield School.

Sunnyhurst is a pupil referral unit for pupils aged 5-11. Pupils in this unit receive input from Music Unlimited on a weekly basis. They use a variety of instruments to develop ensemble and instrumental skills.

Music Unlimited works with a group of students from the bridge unit at Newfield School. We deliver our 14-19 Performance Basics course on a weekly basis.

Music Unlimited is a company limited by guarantee and a not for profit organisation registered in England and Wales No. 2885784.
