This year we are concentrating on P Levels within Key Stage 3.

P Levels within Key Stage 3

Although there are some awkward parts within the P Level descriptions there are plenty of mentioned skills that would undeniably be useful to anyone wanting to develop as a musician.

We have broken down the paragraphs describing the P Levels into individual target points and put these into a spread sheet for every pupil we see. These sheets will be kept for pupils throughout the Key Stage.

We are not interested in ticking every box but rather documenting the range of skills an individual has demonstrated. Where we find blocks to progress or surprising leaps and frustrating gaps we intend to intervene. We shall review our lesson planning and flag up our intentions and findings with our teaching assistants and our senior management teams.
