With “Self-Portrait” as a theme I chose to work with this month, I had no intention of taking pictures of myself directly. I started trying to take pictures of things that reflect what I do or love, starting with some failed attempts at the cats, dollhouses, and crafts. When I took a close-up of one of the bottles, I became inspired to take only crucifixion bottle details since we have a March Easter this year. In NO WAY am I saying that the pictures of Jesus are self-portraits! But I so loved Nikki’s Santa collection from last December that I have been wanting to focus on a collection at some point. If I am defined in any way through my collection of “Jesus bottles,” then these are a kind of self-portrait.
