buddhism
Our life is shaped by our mind,
we become what we think
The word Buddhism comes from the name Buddha, which means 'awakened one'. The historical Buddha taught a universal means of personal and spiritual development up to levels way beyond the limits we normally put on ourselves. Wherever Buddhism has been established it has sought to transform ordinary human lives into happier ones by encouraging what's best in us: our love, generosity, delight, desire for peace, etc. What the Buddha actually taught were gradual steps on a progressive path that was clearly laid out for anyone to follow. The steps develop awareness, ethical behaviour, higher states of consciousness and the dawning of perfect wisdom. The steps form a path that is freely chosen by individuals seeking to realise their ultimate potential.
