I have tried to wait for a breakthrough with Elliot to write about, but unfortunately, it still hasn’t happened. We have been home for two months and I am still trying to figure out why this boy doesn’t like me. We have had a handful of good moments together, but they are few and far between.
Amelia went away last weekend to do a wedding photo shoot and I was home alone with the boys. Honestly, I wasn’t looking forward to it because Elliot doesn’t want to have anything to do with me the majority of the time. If he would just cry a bit, it wouldn’t be so bad. However, he screams. He kicks. He hits. He sometimes won’t even eat food that I try to feed him. So, I was prepared for the worst case scenario while Amelia was away. I went into Elliot’s room at night and held him and prayed with him all week long before Amelia left.
Thankfully, God answers prayers. My two days with the boys passed without a hitch. Micah was a great big brother, and Elliot was mostly peaceful. He must have known that I was the “only person coming to his rescue”. Of course, as soon as Amelia walked in the door all heck broke loose and Elliot started screaming at me again. Oh well, at least there were a couple days that I can file in the “good” category of memories.
In other news, Easter was extremely early this year, so of course it was cold again (last year we had snow on Easter weekend!). Here are some photos of our Easter Egg hunt and dinner with eh Zabkas. (Elliot is pictured above with Violet Zabka.)
