About us...  The Sunyata Jazz Quartet has been writing, performing, and recording in the Boston area since December, 2005.  The rhythm section features three distinguished graduates from the Berklee College of Music, Natalie, Rodrigo, and Alex. Matt is the director of jazz studies at the Boston Arts Academy. Their first CD, "Perpetual Search" is available on iTunes and at sunyatajazz.com.   What is Sunyata?    Sunyata is a sanskrit word which may be translated as interconnectedness and relativity.  It is the belief that no thing exists independent of anything else.  We see Jazz as an expression of sunyata; each musician creates sound based on what he or she hears other musicians playing.  The music happens in an instant and can not be predetermined or changed.
