PURPOSE

To share the Gospel, feed children, and serve the poor

in villages surrounding Guatemala City where we are striving to plant house-churches.

PROJECTS

Village Evangelism - the long-range strategy here is to share Christ, find the house of peace, invite people to a home Bible study, and eventually launch a church.  This strategy is organic, people-intensive, yet simple and contagious, and students will feel equipped to use this same strategy they have learned when they return home. (in their neighborhood, school campus, college dorm, corporate office, etc.)

Each day we’ll eat breakfast at the hotel, depart for the villages, use a variety of methods (sports, crafts, VBS, Bible stories, street evangelism) to gather people together for the purpose of sharing Christ.  We will share the Gospel and distribute food to children & Bibles to all new converts.  Our ongoing ministry on the ground will be responsible for follow-up, discipling new converts, and working to establish a church in that village.

NOTE

It’s very relaxed when we’re in the villages.  We’re also able to just hang out, play sports with children (primarily soccer), personal evangelism (we provide translators), etc.  It’s  exhilarating work that will become natural to you by the time you leave, equipping you to do the same thing back home.

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE

8AM    Breakfast

9AM    Depart hotel for villages (villages are 1-2 hours drive out of the city)

11AM  Ministry

12PM  Lunch on site (we’ll take it with us each morning)

1PM    Ministry continued

4PM    Depart for hotel

6PM    Arrive hotel & cleanup

7PM    Dinner at hotel

8:15    Daily Leaders Mtg

8:30    Large Group Spiritual Challenge/share time/Individual church group time

11PM  Lights Out

1. *Excursion will be on the last full day of the trip as we take a tour of the colonial city of Antigua.
