Welcome!
StudioWriting workshops are for adults who have always wanted to write fiction, poetry or memoir but have trouble getting started, as well as for those who are already writing but could use a little creative motivation.
These workshops provide a place and time in a group of fellow writers where you can get your creative juices flowing, maybe even wake up that sleepy muse!
Notice: These workshops are temporarily suspended due to a lack of a reliable studio. We hope to reopen in Fall 2009 in the Waltham area once a suitable location is secured. Please email if you are interested in a Tuesday evening workshop in the fall in the greater Waltham area.
If you have a group of 7-12 adult writers interested in a workshop and have your own suitable location in the Metro West Boston area, day-long or multisession private workshops in mixed genre (prose/poetry), fiction, poetry or memoir can be arranged this summer.
Click here for upcoming enrollment periods.
*These workshops may not be for you if:
✏ You are seeking an English composition-type or rhetoric class, or an ESL course for improving English language skills...(However, non-native speakers of English are, of course, welcome in the workshop!)
✏ You prefer a non-intimate, classroom experience where work is “turned in” for “evaluation” but not shared...
✏ You enjoy workshops where the main focus is on offering criticism on each other's completed and typed manuscripts...
✏ You really like being told (or telling others!) what is "wrong" with your (their) writing...
✏ You treat writing workshops like literature classes or book clubs and want to analyze other people's writing...
