Yoshiko’s tales
 of derring do!

Hello all, until I find some time and means to get online in peace, here are some pictures from a while ago via e-mail.  I shrunk the size quite a bit.

The Gervasuty Pilier is a 800m rock and mixed climb ending up on the Mont Blanc du Tacul 4248m, then you have a long walk down the mountain, across the past some awesome rock routes, then up a killer hill to the Aguille du Midi station to catch a lift down.  It was a 25hr (a day and a half after I had a 18hr and 20hr day) climb non-stop and no sleep.  It got pretty cold at night, and moving in 3 (with myself and my partner swapping leads) made a a bit slow too but we got there at the end.  The chopper came around, but we waved them that we're cool and carried on.  They come up so close you can see them inside.  An Italian guy Cora, did the same route in 5hrs and a bit by himself. Great.

The Grand Capucin is the big feature in the back ground sticking out 'Gran_Capucin’ photograph above.  The routes on there were pretty hard but awesome lines.  Got thunderstorms rolling in and hailed off on the second day though, whilst on the direct route.  We freed the Elexire du Astronoth (I think..) as high as we can until it was full on aid.  The Swiss Route was successful though.  It was really cold camping out in a 3 season mesh tent and a non-warm sleeping bag.  Managed well though!  I'm getting better at slack lining by walking a few steps.

All the best, and hope to update the blog as the weather is really unstable right now up high for any alpine days.  Good to get some rest and relax a bit too.  May go to Les Ecrins to run away from the bad weather in Chamonix.

The good old reliable Patagnoia gear is working very well but wearing out pretty well too, but just patching up holes and so on.  My pack is beaten up, but doing well and still holding stuff.  My feet are holding up well despite the long walk in ski boots.  Glad I don't do that everyday.

Hope to get more pictures processed and find a better way of uploading it in some kind of space.

Off to sew up some holes in other climbing friend's pants and clothes now.  May have a hair cutting session at some point.  Everyone's hair it growing too long. Wishing you all the best, Yoshiko
