The Friends of Colonel Riker invite you to join them for a quiet drink to commemorate the 146th Anniversary of the Anderson Zouaves’ movement from New York to the Seat of War in 1861. The "friends" will meet at 6pm Friday August 17, 2007 at the Hotel Sweeney's on the corner of Clarence and Druitt streets, Sydney, one minute from Town Hall station. The hotel has a bistro with reasonably priced food and a great atmosphere.

The Sixty-second New York, better known as the Anderson Zouaves, Volunteer Veteran association, will hold its thirty-fourth anniversary on Wednesday next at 394 Sixth Avenue, New York. There are quite a number of veterans in this city who are members of the organisation.
