Two weeks ago I started an Urban Permaculture Design Course at the San Francisco Botanical Garden and it has swallowed me up!
It feels like total immersion. Work has become what I do when I’m not reading, breathing, eating Permaculture. The course takes place during eight weekends over the course of the summer and is usually eight hours on Saturday and six on Sunday, but this past weekend it was 9 to 9 both days, and they were fascinating. Draining and energizing at the same time.
The guest lecturer for both days was Geoff Lawton whose video “Greening the Desert” can be viewed here and on YouTube.
Although I didn’t really realize this when I signed up for the course, Permaculture is more than a method of gardening and designing gardens, it’s actually a way of life. I will have links and more information as soon as my head stops spinning. For now, here are a few photographs I took after an eye-opening discussion on the subject of patterns in nature and how they’re everywhere.
