Create a Wave of Change!

Once upon a time a parent died and was sent to the “Pearly Gates.” St. Peter said to the parent, “Oh, come on in, Jesus has been waiting for you.” The parent was nervous. Upon seeing the parent Jesus greeted her with a big hug. Then Jesus said, “Thanks for all you did for me while you were on earth.” “What did I do for you?” “The meals, the carpools, the Dr. visits, the sleep-overs, your understanding and your ever present love and acceptance. Whenever you did those things for your child, you did them for me. Now come a gaze at the beautiful legacy you have left behind in your children.

You must know as parents you are creating waves of change through your role as a parent. Your careful vigilance, your kind and encouraging word, your loving presence and your involvement in the small areas of your child’s life create waves of change that effect their growth and development. What a holy vocation you possess. What an exciting endeavor and a blessed calling.
