I just played my first gig in Mexico and also had my name featured in an article in the local paper in San Miguel, which is where the gig took place. It was not a paying gig but it was a fundraiser for a very good cause called Casita Linda. A group of volunteers are able to go into the small villages, of which there are many, surrounding San Miguel and build small casitas for the poorest families that are living in no more than shacks are in dire need. The casitas have running water and electricity are are built in about ten days each for a cost of $1500. Pretty incredible. We raised enough to build ten casitas so it was a great success and I had a great time and met and performed with some of San Miguel's finest musicians. Here are some pics:
