MAG 2 Practice Piece
MAG 2 students! Here is the song ‘Rover’ that we are learning to play on the recorder. You can hit play and then play along with the tune. The song is played twice. This will help you to keep in time and practice the notes B, A, G and D’. Remember to keep your eyes on your music! SUSTAINABILITY MUSIC ~ SUSTAINABILITY MUSIC
This year St Helena’s has been gripped with sustainability fever! We have looked at how music can contribute to keeping us healthy and promote sustainability issues. All students have been creating music for the sustainability project and we hope to compile everyone’s work on a St Helena’s Sustainability CD for release later this year. MAG 1 students have made fitness videos. They have worked out the exercises, composed the music and are in the process of making the videos. Some of their music is in the podcasts below. MAG 1 students also composed, recorded and starred in the video for the school Crunch and Sip song. What’s happening in MAG 2 music? What are the MAG 1s doing? Students in MAG 2 classes were treated to a Junkadelic workshop which inspired them to create their own recycled instruments out of everyday materials. They have used these instruments in their own small group compositions. See some of their music podcast below. What are the MAG 3s doing for sustainability? MAG 3 students have worked collaboratively in small groups to compose either a piece of meditation music, based on a specific environment, or a protest song about a sustainability issue. Hear some of their works in progress below. RECYCLING ROCKS MAG 2!
MAG 2 make music with their recycled material instruments. MAG 3 PROTEST AGAINST ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE.
Jonathon, Derick, James, Xavier and Patrick highlight many sustainability issues in this protest song. (Stay tuned...this is still a work in progress!) Beachside Meditation
by Julia, Chantelle and Monique. Rainforest Waterfall
by Stephanie and Hayley.
Rory, Aaron, Lachlan and Brendan composed and recorded this groovy tune!
