Crunch & Sip @ St Helena’s
in our school
We are a Crunch and Sip school and this term we are ‘re-fueling’ by crunching on fresh fruit and vegetables and by sipping water so that we can concentrate on our learning. We are learning how to keep fit and healthy. Listen to our podcast for some more ideas.

What is Crunch & Sip?
http://www.crunchandsip.com.au/default.aspx

Crunch&Sip is a set break to eat fruit (or salad vegetables) and drink water in the classroom. Students 're-fuel' with fruit or vegetables during the morning or afternoon -assisting physical and mental performance and concentration in the classroom.
Each day students bring fruit (or salad vegetables) to school to eat in the classroom at a set time. Each child has a small clear bottle of water in the classroom to drink throughout the day to prevent dehydration.
Through Crunch&Sip, schools demonstrate their commitment to nutrition education in the classroom, by making links with the curriculum and creating a supportive school environment.
Crunch & Sip Day - Friday 29th July
Sustainability fever took hold on Friday, the 29th July. Students and staff all joined together to sing the Crunch & Sip song composed by the MAG 1 students and then all crunched on fresh fruit and veggies and sipped on water from their special crunch and sip water bottles. Following the healthy snacks students enthusiastically participated in activities that were both FUN and SUSTAINABLE to raise money for Caritas.
