Music Trip To Belgium
A video was taken during the trip. To see this video, click here.
On the 8th June, Gracemount High School’s wind band travelled to Belgium to perform at many
wonderful venues. As well as performing, the band also spent time exploring the great cities of
Belgium. We spent time in the town of Mechelen where we were given a guided tour. All of the band
members found the tour interesting and in some cases breath-taking.
We also visited a theme park called Bobbejaanland (Yeah, that’s what we thought.) The theme park
was great fun and well…wet! Most of the band saw past the rain and marched onto all of the rides.
Even the teachers had a ball. On the last day of our visit we visited a chocolate factory in Bruge. The
factory was amazing and left me feeling slightly peckish.
The band was complimented on countless occasions for their performances within Belgium.
Someone even gave us 20 euros, ya beauty!
Gracemount’s Wind Band certainly rose to the occasion and impressed many. I think I speak for the
entire band when I say the trip was a great success and everyone enjoyed the trip. This was really a
great opportunity for all those involved and I don’t think we will forget this trip in a hurry.
