LIGHTING FOR MOVIES AND VIDEO - GET THE  SKILLS YOU NEED...

Concrete Dream INC., Digital Arts Shoals and the Film Commission of NorthWest Alabama are proud to announce our newest series of workshops. 

• BASIC LIGHTING FOR MOVIES & VIDEO - Saturday  February 9, 2008 - 9am to 5pm

• ADVANCED LIGHTING FOR MOVIES & VIDEO - Sunday February 10, 2008 - 1pm to 7pm. 

Both workshops will be taught by working industry pros Robert Duke & Bill Schweikert, whose credits include - WALK THE LINE, 21 GRAMS, LIKE MOLES LIKE RATS, and BLACK SNAKE MOAN - just to name a few.  Attendees will get hands on, practical experience with the ACTUAL EQUIPMENT used to make videos, films, AND movies. 

We are limiting class sizes to get our students maximum personal attention from these experts.

You’ll learn equipment names, proper usage, and on set etiquette.  At the end of the workshop you’ll receive an official certificate, a glossary of lighting terms and you’ll be included - if you want - in the production database for movie makers who need crew in the Shoals.

It will be a fun day of learning with actual HANDS-ON demonstrations of the instruments and techniques needed to light your movies and video.   Come to learn.  Come to network.  Come to see our new facility at Digital Arts Shoals! 

These workshops are not only going to be fun, but they’re cheap!

WHERE ARE THE WORKSHOPS BEING HELD -

Workshops are being held at the new DIGITAL ARTS SHOALS facility - who’s mission is to incubate, educate, and inspire digital arts businesses in north Alabama.  The physical address is 501 Little Rock Avenue, Sheffield, AL 35660.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST -

Registration is open to anyone 16 years old and older.  

Saturday Feb. 9, 2008 - BASIC LIGHTING FOR THE MOVIES & VIDEO WORKSHOP - $50 adults & professionals/$30 students

Sunday Feb. 10, 2008 - ADVANCED LIGHTING FOR MOVIES AND VIDEO WORKSHOP - $50 adults & professionals/$30 students.  It is recommended that you have taken the BASIC LIGHTING CLASS but it’s not required. 

Combo Deal - Both BASIC LIGHTING FOR THE MOVIES & ADVANCED LIGHTING FOR THE MOVIES - $75 per person/$55 student

For those students who took our first LIGHTING WORKSHOP last year... please consider taking both days... the basic and advanced.  Robert & Bill will be covering new material on both days.

DEADLINE - Please note... No personal checks will be accepted AFTER Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008.  That means if you think your mail won’t get to our offices before Tuesday Feb. 5, 2008, send a Money Order made out to CONCRETE DREAM INC. or bring CASH the day of the event.

FOOD -

Bring some extra cash for lunch or bring your lunch. We will NOT be providing lunch, but deli style sandwiches can be ordered at the beginning of that particular workshop day.  Lenny’s Sub Shop will take your order and money- before the workshop starts - and deliver your 5 inch sandwich and drink and chips and cookie to you during the lunch break.  Tax and all it’s ONLY $5.70.  What a deal!
