The workshop is intended for middle and high-school mathematics teachers.  For years, mathematics teachers have been caught in the traditional cycle of teach-practice-review-test-grade-move on.  In an era of accountability and standards-based teaching, a new model of assessment and grading is necessary.  This presentation summarizes the latest research in mathematics assessment and grading, including the use of frequent common formative assessments and grading for learning.
