The Discovery Learning Seminar (DLS) is dedicated to improving teaching in mathematics and science classes at CSUDH. At DLS meetings faculty discuss pedagogy and teaching techniques that foster student learning. Indeed the central focus of the seminar is student thinking, and we discuss ways to help faculty help students develop higher-level thinking.
The seminar is also has a support feature for junior faculty. Junior faculty in NBS are supported professionally with advice and discussions about scholarly work, grant writing, tenure and promotion, and service.
This is an ongoing seminar for NBS faculty. It is unrelated to the IBL Workshop Project.
