About the Photographer

I am a self taught amateur photographer. My interest was sparked when I took my first course in photography in college back during the early eighties. It has progressed with reading books and getting tips from professional photographers who have been kind enough to critique my work.
My equipment has not changed much over the years I still rely on my trusty Canon AE-1 program 35mm print film camera, a true work horse. I am also using a Nikon Coolpix 4500 and Nikon D200 SLR. I am still very old fashion in that I set the camera up to get the effect I want. The pictures I display are not computer enhanced, they are right off the camera.
My belief is that a picture is what the photographer wants you to see by using light and lens. The best picture of all is the memory you have of that place and time. That is something that can never be enhanced upon by anyone but you.
