Welcome to St. Pius X Youth Groups

Youth Ministry at St. Pius X Catholic Church is thriving, thanks to wonderful parish support!  We've renovated the old convent/daycare center to provide more needed space.  We have a full service coffee shop, more meeting space, a bigger entertainment space, karaoke stage and much more!

Our Vision Statement

We are committed to providing the best spiritual formation possible for the youth of our Catholic community. We welcome all youth, regardless of religious affiliation. We are committed to providing the youth with their own gathering place, that is theirs to hang out at, do homework, and gather to have fun; but that is still a safe setting to foster spirituality and community. We are committed to assisting the youth in growing and deepening their Catholic faith.

Our Youth Ministry Program

The youth ministry program is comprised of junior high and high school students.  This year, we are implementing a new program, Total Faith Initiative. This program

has the components for a Catholic Youth Ministry that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have called for in the document “Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry.” To put it simply, the bishops call young people to embrace their faith as they study it, pray it and live it. The components include: evangelization, justice and service, community life, prayer and worship, pastoral care, and youth leadership development. Catechetical sessions on the Creed, Liturgy and the Sacraments, Christian Morality, and Christian Prayer also will be included. This is a comprehensive program that has an integrated approach to youth ministry, with flexible resources, solid content about the Catholic faith, and dynamic sessions for learning and discussion.

Junior high youth group meets on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Each junior high student is required to complete two service projects with the youth group; these are on regular youth group nights. Junior high youth group starts on September 9, 6:30 p.m.

High school youth group meets on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Each high school student is required to complete three service projects with the youth group; these are also on regular youth group nights. High school youth group starts on September 10, 7 p.m.

The Youth Center is host during the year to the Interfaith Hospitality Network, a program that helps homeless families find jobs and homes while in a more stable environment. During the weeks that the Youth Center hosts these guests, we will do off-campus service projects. Upcoming weeks are: March 1-7 and May 24-30. Please call Jessica if you are interested in volunteering with this program.

We are also involved with the other Catholic church youth groups. All the events are designed to promote the Catholic youth community. We’ve had Broomstick Hockey, Ultimate Frisbee, video scavenger hunts, The Amazing Race event, dodgeball, and Eucharistic Adoration.

We can’t wait for you to join us at youth group!
