About me
Simon D’souza
I’m a saxophonist, composer, educator and music technologist
I’ve been playing sax for over 25 years and have been teaching for 20.
I run a saxophone workshop in Hove and am also part of This Beautiful World, a voluntary organisation that puts on large scale events for amateur and professional musicians.
I write music for my bands and for theatre.
I’m also a Creative Agent for Creative Partnerships, which means that I advise schools on working with artists and bringing creativity to the curriculum...

More about the bands I play in
Spirit
My latest band which is off the drawing board and into reality - Rob Heasman on trumpet, Tim Wade on trombone, Tom Phelan on keys, Nick McGuigan on bass, Dave Trigwell on drums and of course, myself on saxes. Click here to go to the Spirit page
Straight No Chaser - click for website
A great big band playing Basie, Nestico, Goodwin charts and much more.
Urban Blue - click for website
An excellent 6 piece function band playing jazz, motown and funk. I even sing a version of ‘Sex Machine’!
Sax and Acoustic bass - great for occasions when you just need some good quality acoustic jazz that you can either listen to or have in the background
Souzaphonic
My own jazz quartet, which plays original soulful jazz, not doing much at the moment whilst I get Spirit up and running, though we do have a gig at Pissarros in Hastings on April 27th.
